• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I think I've created a monster with my wife and her new F3

I shared earlier that I bought my wife and I each the new F3-S Special Series and we received them a few weeks back. My wife is completely new to riding however she took the motorcycle course, did great and is now having a blast riding hers. When I first ordered them I would catch her online shopping for cool looking motorcycle attire for her self even before she took the course which I had to laugh at.

Now I think I've created a monster. The next thing I know we have jacket's and shirt's and of all things we start receiving movie character motorcycle helmets. The first one that came in was a Darth Vader helmet and in honor of the Triple Black series she bought a Batman Helmet. I just took this picture of her excited to wear it on a short ride to of all places....The Mall for more shopping. :helpsmilie:

I am just like your wife, completely new to riding, having a blast riding my F3, shopping online for cool looking motorcycle attire (I remember buying my first union jack leather jacket and posting pic of it on SL). It's a great feeling knowing there are others on this site just like me :2thumbs:

:dg2:I love shopping for gear, but I don't need any more! :sour::(

If you two are coming to Spyderfest, tell the wife to save some money for Vendor Village!

How's the visibility with that Batman helmet? :dontknow:

I asked her specifically on the visibility and she said it was pretty good considering. She could see peripherally just fine but I'll ask her more when she returns. I told her that she may have a challenge with the wind pulling up on that helmet if she tries to ride too fast but shouldn't have too much of an issue if she's keeping it local. I told her I wished we had a GoPro camera to mount on her helmet because I was dying to see the looks!

Looks more like you created Cat Woman...

Its a good thing, a couple that rides together gets to buy farkles together...

Absolutely!!! The helmets aside, the fact that your wife is so into your new hobby and the two of you can share "all things Spyder" together is fantastic! :2thumbs: You're a lucky guy.

:D Just wait until she discovers the fun of Farkling... :2thumbs:
Seriously; isn't it great to have a shared love, with your True Love?

Thanks all! Yes, it really is great to be able to share this together and I really get enjoyment out of seeing her take off on her own like she did today. She always asks me if I want to go ride with her but isn't afraid to go out and ride around on her own. Most importantly she always comes back with a big smile saying how much fun it was.

She is starting to eye Farkles only she doesn't know what that word means just yet! I'll throw the term out to her one day nonchalantly and I know she'll give the :hun:. Then I'll tell her that I thought she knew what that was and that's what all the cool kids call them and she'll jump on-board with all of the lingo.

That was me in 2010, I ordered a helmet, jacket, pants, boots and gloves before I picked up the Spyder. Joe tried for nearly 20 years to get me to ride and now he can't get me to stop. 150,000 miles later I'm still as excited about riding Spyders as I was back then.
