• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I think I am in love...

My Girl was delivered in a crate yesterday, and I was able to drive her home last night! Went to work this morning (I commute 65 miles each way in traffic) and she handled beautifully (in the rain no doubt). Saw an accident happen 10 cars in front of me on the San Rafael Bridge (ugh), but handling this beauty in the rain, on a bridge, with an accident in front of me was no problem for her! Wow, the breaks on this thing are amazing! I cannot wait for the ride home tonight.

Thank you to my wonderful husband, Brian, for talking me into getting a new Spyder...
...and for not trying to ride her before I got to .

I really appreciate all of the help and encouragement I received from this forum. I have learned a lot while trying to make decisions on this new purchase.

I cannot believe I am finally riding my very own Spyder.

Here she is - now I just need to figure out what to name her ;)

We were almost twins!

I bounced back and forth several times between the RS-S (Dealer had an SM5, that looked just like yours) and the RS, before I bought my RS a couple of weeks ago. I knew I absolutely needed some accessories and decided to use the difference to purchase those, but it was not an easy decision. I love the look of that bike and the Fox shocks are said to be a huge improvement. Of course I also love the look of my solid black RS and a purchase of either Fox or Elka shocks is imminent. Congratulations and enjoy the new ride!
P.S. Glad you don't live next door, because I'd be questioning my decision every day!

Nothing like a happy customer !

Congradulations

That sure is a nice ride to work - and the ride home is the best stress reliever too.

:congrats: on your "Green Meanie"!:yes::yes:
You'll have to let us know what she allows you to name her... Lots of luck deciding!
Here's to lots of miles and smiles for you and Brian!:ohyea:

Nice Jeep in the photos. :D I like your spyder too. I had to comment on the Jeep because I have one and like you I just bought a new spyder that is getting assembled. I think the dealership is still waiting on a cable so I can have bluetooth cell phone use before he will let me take delivery. You sound as thrilled as I feel. Congrats on your new baby. I wish I could get my wife to ride on her own. She doesn't know what she is missing.

:welcome: and :congrats: on the ryde. Yes, you do have quite a commute.

How about "Grasshopper as a possible name?

I liked the black RS as well, and having the upgrades you choose for yourself will be nice. It is not an easy decision, making big purchases like these, but we all have to draw the line somewhere. What upgrades are you planning on doing to your bike? The shocks are very nice, yes. The color I chose suits me well, and it is easy to see on the road :D Enjoy yourself, and maybe our bikes will meet someday.

Thanks! It took me 6 months to decide what I wanted when I purchased my Jeep, but it was worth it. I have a straight six, and it is still running like a charm after 11 years and over 150k miles. I took time researching Spyders as well, and although I was willing to settle for a used bike, I am sure happy that my hubby talked some sense into me. Maybe your wife will change her mind when she sees your new Spyder? What are you getting?

Well the immediate upgrades were the touring windshield, passenger backrest, and handlebar risers... and the previously mentioned shocks. Long term will consider floorboards, exhaust, Corbin fairing, and whatever else strikes me during the next couple of thousand miles. Like every other motorcycle I've ever owned it will always be a work in progress! Enjoy yourself also, and I do hope to attend Spyder events in the future so they may well meet.
