• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well I put the Park lock on my bike myself and it works I guess I can be happy about that. Because it looks bad

Doesn't look all that bad, maybe just a little rough around the edges. But the take away from this is you did it yourself.

Think forstner bit next time you need a clean edge.

A taper reamer is also nice to round over the edge a bit for a pro look ...

Looks good to me. And you saved money for other mods. If somebody is that close to you bike to see it, tell 'em to back up. :2thumbs:

I like the saying from the model railroad hobby, 70%3ft. Seventy % of the detail is good enough from 3 ft away. Unless you point that out, no one is even going to notice it is there. It looks fine. There are some real craftsmen on this site that make even professionals look bad. The rest of us just do the best we can and are glad we had the courage to start the job, and the tenacity to finish.

Looks good to me. As already stated, no one will notice if you don't point it out. As a matter of fact no one will notice the lock is there unless you point it out. Not really going to be the focal point of your bike.

Doesn't look that bad. Mine looked like yours and I put some Back to Black on it and that made it look better.

What is a park lock? Honestly I have never heard of it.

Brian

Parking brake. The lever (on the right side of the original picture), flips down to release.

When in stock form, there's no lock on this lever, so someone could theoretically walk up, flip the lever, and roll your Ryker away.

The accessory lock slides a metal pin into the lever when the key cylinder (silver circle in the middle of the pic) is turned, thus preventing the lever from moving.

Installation requires you to drill a hole the same size as the cylinder circle. Looks like the drillbit Beanz used snagged a little bit on the plastic, making the edge of the hole not as clean as he would have liked.

I agree with everyone else.....no one else will else will notice but Beanz.... ;)

A most excellent explanation, Dude....:thumbup::congrats:

Sand the edges of the hole (as others have suggested) and put some black trim around it -- maybe a rubber grommet? Or a hole plug with the center cut out to the same size as the lock mechanism?
