• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have some custom made floorboards that I would like to paint. http://www.spydertalk.com/forums/to...89__hl__floorboards__fromsearch__1#entry67489
The floorboards are made of aluminum diamond plate. I want to end up with something that compliments my tank protector.

I want to do a job that will last. I don't mind putting in effort in on the front end, but I hate doing things over. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

While I know as much about painting aluminum as Hogs do about the Sabbath, I still think that they look pretty sharp...
Powder coating them might just be your best bet. Pick the process that gives you the toughest covering and you should be just fine...

I got a quote for $100 to get all of the aluminum parts of the RT that are the gray color powder coated flat black. They mentioned it just adds a few items to their process :coffee:

Painting aluminum is no fun but it can be done.:gaah:
Go to a local paint shop like dupont, ppg or napa and ask for an acid that you must use to wash down the aluminum. Then put on a good primer like metaletce
and then put your color on followed by a good coat of clear.
Caution:
DO NOT buy the cheap stuff because you only get what you pay for.
I painted an aluminum boat with this process and it still is holding its color. I went to ppg to get the neccasary paint to do the job.:2thumbs:
Good luck.
