So, I tried the canisterectomy and that helped some, but there were still fumes coming out and some drips could be seen. So, I am trying something different. Since I removed the airbox and put in JT's new filter, there is a lot of room up front. I put the canister back in, extended the purge and tank hoses and rerouted the stock vent hose. The canister is higher than the stock position, but only part of it is above the tank, however the hoses all run high and then drop into the canister. This will give them a cooler route and hopefully prevent any drips and if any of the fumes condense, hopefully it will be in the hoses and run back into the tank. See pics below. We should be able to get a good ride in tomorrow so I can see if it will work or not.
The first pic shows the canister now located by the coolant overflow tank. The second and third show the routing of the hoses.
