• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I had my 2012 RT SE Limited in the shop because being in the hospital for 3 months The battery was dead dead. They had to reset 5 codes. While I was there I asked them to disconnect the analog gauges. I thought it would be easy to change them from fuel and heat to Amp gauge and oil pressure. Is this a major job or can some tell me how to do it with out downloading the maintenance file?:banghead::hun:

I'll wright more later about the progress I have made since my 3 mos,\. in the hospital with Spinal Meningitis. Job's problems were minor compared to mine. You know everything that could go wrong, did.

the volt gauge is pretty simple
buy gauge that in 52mm [I think]
Plug neg. wire into middle wire on triple connecter for old gauge
Plug pos. wire into single connecter for old gauge [if new gauge has 2 pos. wires plug them both into single connecter
Oil pressure gauge is a little more involved
I have the new 1330 so the factory sending unit is in a different place than yours
Find sending unit and remove for know
you nee a male 10mm to female 1/8 npt adapter to put on where old sending unit came out of
then put 14inch stainless steel braided brake line [both ends male 1/8 npt] to that adapter
run brake line to some where you can attach it to the bike frame [leave a little slack for movement of engine
tie wrap a "T" 1/8 npt all female
Install brake line to one outlet on T
install new sending unit to another outlet
install male 1/8 npt to 10mm female adapter to the last outlet on T
run wire to gauge
use same wire for pos. and neg. as you did for volt gauge
adapters are hard to find in stores
I Googled each one and ordered them
if you have any questions let me know

As I see it..!!

disconnecting the exsisting gauges is not a problem. Depending on the gauges you replace them with may be a bit of work. Adding or replacing oil pressure sensor and running wires form amp gauge can take a bit of time. Shop should be able to handle it they do this a lot..glad your up and about...

He is asking about amp gauge. Whole 'nuther animal!

Amp gauge will tell you how many amps you are drawing
the volt gauge will tell you if your charging system will is working correctly
amp gauge is harder to set up but I do not think it is as useful
Your volts will also drop if you are using more amps than the alternator can put out

I can't help with wiring for the gauges, but I'm glad to hear that you're thinking about getting your bike ready for the season!
Keep healing!!
