• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am using something interesting

I was looking for away to cut down on my cable bill and came across the
"EYETV HYBRID" by elgato what it does is put tv on your computer while you are working but it also acts as a dvr hence the savings. So i can turn my dvr box in and get a regular box which should save me about 20-25 dollars a month This works with Mac and PC that is running windows 7. MAC must be OS X v 10.5.8. It comes with a remote a usb adapter you only need a coaxl cable. You can also edit out the commercials if you want. works great for my needs. :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

I have had that installed on my Imac for a few years. As far as I know the only extra we pay for our cable boxes is b/c we have HD cable boxes. The function of recording thru the cable box does not cost us any extra; of course we have Time Warner and their charges may be different.

Roger,

You may be right about an extra charge. However, my gf who pays the cable bill said that we only pay extra for dvr on just one of the boxes and it's about $5 or $6 extra per month. She also said that we don't pay extra for the HDTV boxes.
