There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. How to degrease and clean motor and all stuff under plastic shell?

I have my entire spyder stripped down. Frunk off, all side plastic etc. what is the safest way to completely clean all the grease, dirt and grime in drive belt area, in motor area and all inside compartments from 48000 of dirt and grime roads? Was thinking of spraying and lightly brushing with “totally awesome” from dollar general along with dawn and water in spray bottle and hose down, then spray with tire foam and wash off again. This is what I do with snowmobiles but that’s a bit different with spyder and much more electric. What’s the best way to completely clean out the inside guts of the spyder. Id like to make it look like what a steamed detailed engine again.

Other posts on here say oven degreaser and not sure I want to do that.

I can't comment on your chemical choices but your mechanical choices are great: brushing and hosing. That is, you aren't using pressure washing to remove grease, dirt, etc. Pressure washing is a danger to Spyder electronics especially the fuse boxes. But you already knew that.

Sounds like your off to a good start. I usually remove all the dirt that I can with low psi water hose. I like S100 cleaner. Spry it on to a wet surface, let it sit for about 30 seconds then spay off. I also have some BRP stuff that does the same thing. Just don't direct high pressure water to any electrical connectors. If you can't avoid that, cover the connectors with a plastic bag.

Yuppers  elbow grease to degrease ;) :coffee: :2thumbs: good luck congrats getting all personal & it naked. Hope all goes well & back together for ya.

Clean and polish is a lot of work. The results are worth the time.
I use dawn and water mixed in a spray bottle. Definitely need a lot of elbow action.
Carefully rinse with water from a garden hose.

PS: I turn on my radio and enjoy the Time.
Happy polished Spyder. ....

A couple of years ago, I had a lot of oil on the right side of the engine, due to my not tightening the oil filler cap. Stupid on my part. Removed Tupperware from the right side, then used Brakleen (sp?) It worked extremely well in getting the oil off. I ended up using 2 cans. I would spray, ride a bit, spray, ride until there was no smoke coming off the engine. Didn't have to do any brushing or rinsing with water. You might give it a try.
