• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you connect the radio & iPod to helmet speakers? Need suggestions.

I have a 2011 Spyder RT-S and would like some ideas of how to connect my helmet speakers to the radio & iPod. I don't want to talk, just listen to tunes.

Not sure I fully get what you're trying to do-- but the Sena SMH10 units work quite well - and one of the mounts you can get will allow you to plug in your own helmet speakers or earbuds--- anything with a standard mini earphone plug... 3.5mm I think?

That way you can bluetooth to your various devices.....

The issue is how to get the audio from the Spyder to a bluetooth transmitter. BRP should have had this built into the RT audio package.

You can do it on a wired system (like my Starcom1) by wiring an isolated hi-lo converter into the speaker wires, then routing the converter output to the comm system. Probably could do the same with a bluetooth transmitter, I'm guessing.

Where is the easiest place to gain access to the speaker wires? Where s the actual radio located?

So the Spyder RT comm system doesn't have a plug to allow helmets , etc. to plug in?

Please educate me-- very curious about this...

The RT doesn't come with headset jacks as standard equipment. To get those, you must install their CB/Intercom unit and Entertainment Harness. This is a costly and a difficult installation. It does fully integrate into the RT's audio system. There are a host of alternate methods that some prefer.

Good luck, you may want to check Phils Mods. He has done a gr8 setup w/BT

Not sure where the Easiest location to tie into the speaker wires is, but the actual radio head unit is located right above your (sitting on byke) rear right saddlebag. All the wires for the radio run to this unit/location & it's not very difficult to access.
