• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey guys I want to powder coat a bunch of stuff on the rt limited. Do i have to remove the plastic above the peg and passenger floor board, to get the support off or can you reach under it to get at the bolts. I am also powder coating the windshield bracket fender supports and anything else I can take off with ease. thanks for you info

Removing the left side support arm is simple. The right side is an all day project. Refer to the installation instructions for the chrome support arm accessory. I put on the chrome support arms but I can't find the instructions to give you. It's not hard, just time consuming. Lots of disassembly of the Spyder.

Hi

i did exactly what you are going to do. the brake side is a pain with a lot of juggling. Are you near Calgary? if so I can recommend Top Gun coatings as they did a great job. it was about $300 for all the aluminum powder coated satin black (I think it was called midnight) and the 300 included black ceramic coating the exhaust tip and heat shield.

The mid Matt black plastic panel can be left on, but be aware one of the heat shield bolts is under the brake side luggage bag. You have to remove the master brake cylinder, but do not disconnect the hydraulic lines just cut the zip ties where they run up the frame and you should be able to do it. The brake rod will just pull out of the master cylinder boot. Watch the boot does not come off the cylinder. I had the brake pedal coated as well. the only thing I did not coat was the handle bars as replaced with the chrome. I did jack up one side at a time. when you have the parts powder coated ask them to plug any threaded holes.

get some Band Aids!

Good luck

hey SteveO, thanks for the info I live in Sherwood Park and in Edmonton there is an excellent coating place. I am taking it apart Sunday and will have the pieces at the coater in the am. I am doing the windshield in flat black and the rest of it a matte red to match the vinyl wrap i have on the rt, well either matte red or a red with a chrome base not sure yet will decide by Monday.
