• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

CONSIDERING INSTALLING THE GLORIDERS ON MY 2011 RTS VIDEO SEEMS EASY ENOUGH JUST A COUPLE OF SET SCREWS AND THEY NOW SELL IT WITH REMOTE CONTROL
BUT CANT FIGURE OUT HOW THE STOCK CENTER CAPS COME OUT WITHOUT DAMAGING THEM
GLO RYDER SAYS INSTALLATION CAN BE DONE WITH THE WHEELS ON THE BIKE??
ANYONE DONE THIS YET??

The easiest way is to remove the wheels then just take large socket on an extension and tap them out. Or you can do what I did and carefully use a small flat blade screwdriver. Push the blade under the edge and slowly work around the cap. Once its lifted up a little it will come off easily. I did it this way without damaging the cap or wheel.

Front Wheel Cap Removal

I agree with Docdoru and Y rider.. However... be very careful as you remove them. I broke one of mine and had to order a new one.. The little ears that hold them in place are somewhat fragile... When I replaced them I put them both in warm water to make them more flexible before I snapped them into place... Just a suggestion.... Len

Where do you see them being sold with remote? Can we retrofit the older ones?

The magic screwdriver is the answer for removing the caps.

I have installed GloRiders on three bikes now. The first time I removed the wheels. I consider that a waste of time.

Now and for future installations: I put the ring in the mounted wheel--tighten the holding screws and just put everthing else together.

I can install them this way in about 10 minutes now.

I have never lost a GloRider with this method.

Screwdriver for the cap removal.

Allen wrench for the small set screws.

Phillips for the circut board screws.

3 AA batteries for the circuit board. They last me a whole season.

Favorite beverage to celebrate your succesful installation.

Just a note if you install the Glo-Ryders. Make sure to keep the allen wrench for the outside cover and a philips screwdriver on the bike in case you need to remove the tire. You cannot access the three wheel nuts with a lug wrench with the Glo-Ryders on (you don't have to remove the mounting bracket).

The above is very very important. I brought my bike in for some work that would require wheel removal and the tech said don't worry about the glow riders he can get the wheel off without removing them! Ha joke on him I took them off first before he attacked them with the air hammer. Also if you get new tires you have to remove the aluminum insert or you can't get the wheel on the balancer to balance the tire.

So you can still take the center cap off with a screwdriver without taking the wheel off?
