• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How can I confirm s/ware updates on Pre-purchase checklist were done?

Did a search and I didn't find what I was looking for.

My new F3 included a prepurchase checklist in the paperwork that came with it.

Unsurprisingly, the list is pristine, with no indication that it was ever looked at and certainly none of the items where 'checked off' by the dealership.

One of the items indicates that the Spyder should have all of the subsystems updated with the latest firmware, or something to that effect.

How do I know if this was done? Is there a method to check the versions of these updates and compare them to what the latest versions are?

I would ask your Dealer to check the Bike and then get a printed copy of the report. I hope the Spyder Dealer is helpful in doing this request for you.

It's the dealer that I have an issue with, that's why I'm asking the question. I don't trust them at all.

When updates are done, it requires that BUDS be employed. The BUDS system automatically records and saves the information and can easily be retrieved. Should be a piece of cake for a dealership to provide you with the documentation you are looking for. Honestly, they should have provided this with the sale of the machine. Though I'm not saying this is typically done.

I'll attempt to contact the service manager from this dealership. I'll ask him if any of these updates were done and if so, can I please see the documentation.

Sounds like we had the same dealer.

I do not trust the dealer that I purchased mine from and will never step foot back into their door. Good luck, they will tell you anything.

look on your display and see what the latest update is. Then post it here and it can then be compared to what others have.

Where exactly can I find the info on this update? Just turn the machine on and it's there? I don't recall seeing anything like that. It's all pretty new to me still so...

Perhaps we did. You're in GA though...

See this post of mine on my initial experience with my new F3 and the dealership. The real fun starts at post #13.

I still think that both your and my dealership at least had the same training, meaning = NONE, we just sell them then wipe our hands of you.
Your post # 13 was almost my experience to a T.

Can-Am really should do better at handing out dealerships and make sure that they have trained personnel to handle things. But it's all about money.

While I'm not familiar with the F3 on my RTL I can go to settings and scroll through there to find everything, and it gives me the version of the software.

it's found in the settings just the same on the F3

It would appear that maybe a new dealer should be in your future! I have a problem when I step into a dealer to ask a question or want to bounce a question off them and find that I know more about it than they do! Look for a new shop, if for nothing more than a peace of mind.

Ok then, I found the numbers and I would be very appreciative if you guys could compare the version numbers of mine to yours.

BRP SW v710007226
GSS SW v050.21
CSS SW v050.21
HW Version: G07
BL SW vS50.21

There are more numbers but they're under the REGULATORY heading and I don't think they're needed here.

I can't help as mine is older than yours and it's a RTL plus has never been updated.

You might want to ask this in the Buds, BudsII section of the forum.

Off topic I know, but if anyone doesn't know this already, they need to read on.... ;)

Please DON'T DO THIS ^^ IF IT MEANS STARTING ANOTHER THREAD that's asking exactly the same thing!! :gaah: :banghead:

Most readers/members use the 'Today's Posts' or 'New Posts' searches to see what's been posted since they were last on the boards here, so while we do actively encourage people to put their new threads in the correct section/sub-forum, that's more to help people find related info all grouped together in the right place when searching for it, maybe years down track - but anyone actively checking the Forum NOW is likely to have seen your thread (hopefully with your question briefly asked in the title ;) ) thru those previously mentioned searches, which means that duplicating your thread DOES NOT HELP - in fact, it makes it harder to find that info, now or later; and it generally means that neither thread will ever get/hold ALL of the answer!!

So we really don't want you to start another thread asking the same thing just to put it in another section/sub-forum!! :banghead:

However, if you still think that your question/thread might be better off in a different section/sub-forum from where you originally posted it, tnen all you need to do is ask a Moderator (by PM preferably ;) ) about moving it; and if it's appropriate, we'll make it happen - without duplicating the thread, clogging up the Forum with multiple threads on the same thing any more than it is already, and basically just making it harder for everybody!

Just Sayin'

As for your question Albec, I suspect that at least part of the reason you haven't already got a helpful response is that very few owners who don't have BUDS/BUDSII will ever see or know what version of any of the info you're after they might have; and realistically, they probably don't need to know it, so few if any will be in a position to help you.
Sure, there might be a few out there who have BUDS/BUDSII who could help you, but how many of them have a similar year/model Spyder to yours?? And if they don't have one of them, is any of their info going to help you?? :dontknow:

So while, with any luck, someone will (eventually??) come along who can help and is prepared to look that info up for you & share it, I wouldn't hold your breath waiting. :lecturef_smilie: Sorry, but you're asking for info that only a few owners will ever really be interested in knowing, and a significantly smaller number of those will have a similar year/model Spyder to you, so I strongly suspect that your wait for this info might not be anything that could ever be called 'short', or even 'reasonable' for that matter! :opps:

Only now that I've posted that last bit, what's the bet that someone who CAN help; who is prepared to answer; and who has access to a similar enough year/model to provide you with useful answers pops up soon?! :p
I guess we'll see soon enough. ;)

The only people that can answer this are owners of similar model and year as the software # varies. And being a 2023 there is no need for BUDS to look this up.

Please excuse me, I was only trying to help as no-one else had responded.
