• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hot weather High Humidity-Veskimo

I am someone who gets overheated very easily, and was trying to find a good solution for the hot temperatures and high humidity days, since I like to ride year-round. I looked at evaporative vest, and so on, but they all seemed like they would only be effective at high speeds.

I cam across a company called Veskimo, and had a long chat with the owner. I ordered the vest and small "cooler." I think the cooler will fit in the trunk and all I have to figure out ir how to route the hoses.

The unit uses ice and circulates the cold water through the vest. When the ice melts, you can easily add more.

Has anyone tried one of their products?

I think the website is simply-www.veskimo.com

Hey I too get overheated. I was burned on over 95 % of my body so the name burntup I have tried ice pack vest, evaporate vest and others. I have not tried the cold water circ vest. I guess I should. If you do please let me kno how it works. I too like to ride I just bought my spyder since this is the first year vie been able to get back out there. The sun kills me I am recovering from a ride last friday I just got too hot. I had the evaporate vest on but after about thirty miles it was bout dry. So please let me know. Thanks:shocked:

Initial reaction is good.

I look like an astronaut hooked up to the cooler/pump, but it does circulate cold water front and back. ˇhe one issue I may have is getting damp from it, however that is a small price to pay for comfort.

The hose is rather large, and I wanted to put it in the rear trunk. I have the smaller cooler and it fits perfectly with room to spare. I cut a hole right above the power plug to run the hose to the vest hook-up.

Interesting enough they suggest wearing leathers over it since it helps keep the cooling in. There is a larger cooler that hold a lot more ice, but it would have to go on the seat-It does have the advantage of keeping cold longer, though worse case is I would have to stop at a convenience store and get some ice every 4-5 hours.

I will let you know more after I ride with it for an extended period of time.

Hot weather continued.

I took the bike out with the Eskimo today. It was only 88 or so, but it is amazing how well the very works. I put it on and my jacket over it, and within seconds, a cool stream of cool water runs through the vest and cools me off. There is no moisture with the jacket over it. I am very pleased,

I have attached a picture showing the 4.4 cooler in the RT trunk. As you can see there is still space for other items on top. I did have to make a hole for the hose, however it can always be patched, or alternatively it or a larger cooler can sit on the passenger seat when you are going solo.
