RT-S PE#0180
For some time now, I have been considering wrapping my exhaust headers to hold down on the engine compartment heat and it's influence on the ridder. Last Friday, after a 100 mile ride in 95 deg. weather, I returned home, parked the RT in the garage and went into the house. 15 minutes later, went into the garage to retreive something and smelled strong gas odor. Looked under the RT and saw gas slowly dripping from what I think is a vent hose in the center protion just behind the readiator. Looking closer, I could see gas vapors emitting from the same hose and I think the dripping was the gas condensating inside the hose and dripping out. The gas tank was less than 1/3 full. I pulled the right side tupperware off to look at the gas tank. Found the gas tank so hot that it was impossible to hold your hand on the side of it. Guess this is normal but gives me even more reason to insulate the exhaust pipes.
Would love to hear everyones opnion about this.
