I just got a call from my dealer this afternoon that my Hindle was in. I went by after work and picked it up. Looks like the shop manual estimates the installation time at 0.2 hours (12 minutes). I can't wait to put it on this weekend! I heard it last weekend on another Spyder and it sounds much better then stock. Although with a stock muffler that sounds more like a lawn mower then a motorcycle it doesn't take much to sound better then that.

FYI: I ordered my Hindle back in October/November (4+ months ago).

Ordered my Hindle muffler on 3-12-08 received on 3-20-08. List price was $599.00. Dealer gave me a discount. Install was not difficult and the sound is awesome !

I know Spyder4Ever posted earlier here on spyderlovers.com, but here's a YouTube stock vs. Hindle sound comparison:

I like the sound of the hindle.
What is the normal price?
Does it have the same problem as the stock?
Why doesn't BRP change out with this one?
Does it have a catalytic converter?

There is no cat in the Hindel, that's why it's for "Off Road Use Only" :spyder:

have been told by dealer here in ca. (strict smog laws)that due to no cat in muffler that they will not be able to install themselves.. but they can sell them.. :spyder:and after waiting since feb they say ca will not get any till may 15th approx..who knows? my spyder smog is no different than any other spyder...am gonna be calling other dealers to get there idea on delivery date.heck with dealer install i'll do it myself or at least over see and tell wifey how

I don't mean to sound preachy, but as much as I like the sound of louder pipes (had excellent sounding Vance & Hines on my last bike), I'm going to keep the stock pipes.

That is, unless someone makes a good sounding pipe that includes the cat converter.
It just does not feel right to me to undo the positive benefits and disregard what I'd be adding to the air. I know I brought this up months ago, but I still wish some aftermarket genius could give us a great sounding, low emission pipe.

The Main reason I changed the exhaust pipe was the ugly burn spot, the lack of BRP to do anything about it as yet. The restrictive muffler was causing excessive overheating at low speeds and idle, 20+ pounds lighter, horsepower was increased significantly resulting in less fuel to use to damage our environment, it will offset any losses to air quality. Now the motor runs 2 bars cooler on the temp gauge which will greatly extend motor life.
