• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

question when i wrote to BRP about the heat issues and the band aid fix they are doing, they assured me that they spoke to my dealer and told me the parts will be there ASAP. so this was on the 16th and today the 27th and at 4 pm the dealer said he does not have them yet. now the way i see it, it's only a couple of pieces of heat tape so why would it take so long.

now my dealer said he is waiting for 4 kits to do work, so i would think he is not a volume dealer, so do you think the dealers that sell more bikes get first shot at parts or that heat tape is in demand and BRP can't get any. :banghead:

Report the delay to the NHTSA, It's a safety recall..

John, I'm starting to think you're a masochist. You keep returning to the same lousy dealer time and time again when Ledgewood Powersports in Ledgewood, NJ is only about an hour and ten minutes away. They have received good marks from Spyderlovers members.

i am a thick headed Italian, that being said i was told from BRP that the parts would be there fast. so i thought they were going to take care of the problem being i started a case with them about the heat issue. i didn't push the dealer this week because i had the bike apart to remove the elka shocks that one was leaking, re install the original shocks, take the running lights i put on out, i also removed the air horn i installed and put the stock horn back in and i took the volt gauge and the clock/ temperature gauges that i put in out replaced the plastic trim from the dash and put the original fuel and temp back in. so the dealer was the last person i thought of.

tomorrow i am going to see about a trade in price for a 14 rt so why give them all i had. and i am going to another dealer on long island that my best friend knows the owner very well

Have you ever dealt with Ledgewood...?
I live 8 miles from them, Their shop is only 10 by10 and no indoor storage..
When ever i try to deal with them i walk out shaking my head...
I know them way back from when the Father was running the show...

My dealer is a high volume dealer and he has installed several already and today when I went in he was installing a kit on a bike they had in stock to make it ready to sell. Don't know why your dealer would not have received some kits by now.:dontknow:

You may very well be right...

It is my understanding that the high-volume dealers get preferential treatment by BRP when it comes to bike inventory and such...I do not know if this extends to recall/warranty parts, however. When I bought my bike, the service department was VERY concerned about me filling out my BRP Satisfaction Survey and asked if everything met my needs several times. When I inquired, I was told that BRP ranks dealerships for performance standards and that they (Elk Grove Powersports) wanted to maintain their high ranking. Since they always perform needed repairs quickly, and provide a loaner bike if it takes more than a few hours, I was happy to oblige.

BTW...my dealer was one of the 1st (according to the postings on this site) to have the kit in stock for recall repairs.

As I see it..!!

when it is a bulletin or recall all dealers get sent the parts needed at the same time. But according to sales and many shops have outside business coming in so the run out. Have to shop around to see who has the parts and who had to order more..!! :dontknow:

Sounds to me like BRP simply did not make enough repair kits. Or if they did, they can't get them to the right places when the customers need them.

Less than a week

My dealer had in Brookpark, Ohio had the recall parts in less than a week and called and had me scheduled in 2 days. Seems your dealer may not want the work?

It just makes good sense that they'd send more kits to the dealers that sold more bikes; they're gonna have more ticked-off customers riding them over the repairs! nojoke
