• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

High pitched tone coming from spyder?

I have a 2011 Spyder RTSE5 and after a 240 mi ride yesterday and put it away I heard a high pitched tone coming from the :spyder2:.
Today I noticed the tone again. I unplugged all of my accessories and still had the noise. Started it and shut it off, still had the noise.
After opening and closing the frunk a few seconds later I heard a light clik and the noise stopped. Any ideas?

This is normal; anytime key is turned on then off. Was a problem with earlier models of hot restarting and this is a solinod that holds the throttle body butterfly valve/flap in the open position for ~45 minute post shut down. Try not to let it annoy you too much

Happens All the time with the RT computer- Its so High Pitched its sort of like a Hearing test- If that's the one its no problem and goes away a few minutes after shut-off.

Thanks for the info

It has probably been doing all along, like any annoying sound only heard by the wife or the dog.

The Owners Manual even addresses this

All ModelsThis vehicle is equipped with an ElectronicThrottle Control (ETC).Each time the ignition switch is turnedOFF, the ETC motor stays energized for40 minutes. The ETC motor will emit a high frequencysound during this period oftime that can be heard in a quiet environment. This is a normal characteristic of the vehicle.
