There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. HID headlights

Hi, I just purchased a 2010 RS Spyder. Are the HID headlights worth the investment? Are they hard to install of is it something better left to a dealer?

They are worth the investment...I had the dealership install them but they aren't supposed to be a tough job..the most important thing is to make sure the ballasts are NOT touching any metal...

I had a bad ballast with one of mine that was really throwing off the electronics...this is something you have to be careful with..however, if the ballasts are fine, you are good to go...

Oh, they make a HUGE difference to your light output...you can see more and people will see you.

Regarding fog lights, the more I read, the more it appears that staying with the BRP ones make sense as the HIDs are not great if it's actually foggy out...white light will reflect a lot more than a yellowish light...so, if you don't have fog in your area, you can get HIDs for both sets of lights...if you do live in an area where there tends to be fog, you might want to just stick with the BRP fog lights...

I just picked up a set of the BRP HIDs a few days ago and am planning to install them myself. I didn't realize that the kit comes with 2 complete headlights, so my question now is, can I use my existing headlights as fog lights?

Hey. I couldn't get as good a deal as you but I got my brp hid for $339 total so I am very happy!!! Yes these are high quality stuff. HELLA makes some good lighting equipments and those housings are very important. They are the right ones for hid bulbs.

You can't use your old ones for fog and I read the instruction and they left out removing 2 screws on front side of Tupperware.

Yes, hid are good investment for both form and function.
Hard is a relative term but first time I did something requiring removal of trunk and Tupperware, it took me 4 hours, 2nd time, 2 2/1. Before spyder, I have not done oil change myself so I don't think it's that hard but and that's a big BUT, I could not have done it without "how to" threads here.

They are worth it.I installed over the winter a set off of E-bay for around 30 bucks. For me it was a easy install. The hardest part is just finding a place out of the way to zip tie the ballasts and wires.

You got $900 BRP HIDs for 339.00? How did you pull that off? Great move...

Spyderluv got hers fir $250!!!
Brp screwed up on their prices for couple of days, apprently and few dealers jumped on it. There was brief rush on eBay of heavily discounted brp hid but it's all over now. I got mine from a somewhat of local dealer, picked it up, saved on shipping and got a free tail piece I was missing so yes I did good. :D

Just go with a good aftermarket HID kit like the ones from ESI or KB Carstuff (xenon depot). They are both site sponsors and the kits can be bought for under $200.
The BRP ones are way overpriced IMO.
