• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi

Circle Blue

New member
I've been lurking for a while now.

I'm not a Spyder owner, at least not yet, but I am definitely a fan. I love the concept of the Spyder and have been paying attention here to get an idea of what the reality of Spyder ownership could be like.

I'm a small displacement guy and an urban commuter. I live in St. Louis MO and last year rode to work 85% of all possible work days. One of the reasons the Spyder appeals to me is that while I'm aware the Spyder is no snow bunny, still there I days I could ride it to work that I wouldn't ride in on two wheels.

But, the second reason is more important. My lady and are are beginning to get the bug to do some trips. The Spyder, other than the disappointing gas mileage, seems like a safer more practical way to go about doing just that.

HI Circle

I bet you know about SPYDERFEST next month, very close to ya, come on down, everyone will be there and all your questions will be answeared. COWTOWN will have some new and used :spyder2: for sale. THERE THE BEST. hope to see ya.

:welcome: and I agree, come to Spyderfest next month. We'll embrace youe even with two wheels. You don't have to be a Spyderowner to be a SpyderLover.

:welcome:..........anything that I can do to push you over the edge to get a :spyder:, give a yell or send a PM. You will have instant family with the Mo Gang and Cowtown is the best for all your needs afterwards.

:agree: & :welcome: Just come down to Spyderfest down the road from STL. Incidently, me and my wife are coming up to STL for a couple of days before we head out to Cuba so you will see plenty of Spyders on I-44 going that direction.

Come on down and join the fun!:2thumbs:

St. Louis guys....Do not go to Spyderfest. The Spyders will lure you into their web, telling you about the attrbutes of the Spyder and how much fun they have riding in all kinds of weather. Pay no attention to their grins and laughter while riding with their friends.

When I was attending St. Louis University (class of '58), I rode much of the time.

p.s. Take your checkbook to Cuba.

p.p.s. My dealer says my RT-S should be ready for me to pickup this afternoon.....

:congrats: on the arrival of your long anticipated baby!!! Returning to the original thread... No, not ALL of us are going to Cuba/Spyderfest, winter (such that it is) is still in full swing here, and riding in anything for 2500 miles in crummy weather won't ever hit my screen...

I highly recommend that you take multiple test rides, and when you buy (you will ), you AND your SO spend a full day in a large parking lot practicing, before you take any major rides..... You'll appreciate your Spyder all the more.

:welcome: and :agree:
I looked, read and listened for months before I realized the Spyder was in me. It has been a thrill a minute. I just love the feeling and enjoy the looks, comments and questions. Take the leap; the :f_spider: web will catch you. :2thumbs:

:welcome: Come to Spyderfest ! Cowtown in Cuba has 5 custom :spyder2:s to chose from as well as stock . Leave an owner !

And someone is getting a free accesory (or a gift card) if Cowtown sells one of their SE RT's to Circle Blue!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Hi Circle Blue,

Being so close to Cuba, you absolutely have to get to Spyderfest! It's just a matter of time before you act ... the fact that you've been lurking is a tell-tale sign you've been "bit", and you know there's no known cure for Spyder Venom!

BTW.... I'm not sure what fuel economy you're looking for or the kind of speeds you'd be traveling when you're commuting on your Spyder, but I've consistently gotten 33-36 mpg traveling 2 up at average speeds of 35-55 mph. This is typically how Sandy and I have ridden over the 7,500 leisure riding (non-commuting) miles we've put on in the last year on our RT-S.

I have no complaints about the fuel economy whatsoever, but I know others aren't satisfied with what they're getting.

Hey Teddy and your human

If you'd like to read up on some daily adventures on an RT-S, along with a lovable SpyderRyde'n pooch :2thumbs:

I'm subscribed to your thread and have enjoyed reading about your rydes and hairdoos.

And, now that I'm not just lurking you just may get a comment or two.

Thanks for the welcome & Spyderfest

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

Someone on another thread mentioned having to save up for three years to get their :spyder2:. That may be the case for me. Being bitten and being able aren't always the same thing.

My lady and I are planning to drive down to Cuba on the Saturday of Sypderfest and spending the day. I sorta of suspect the real "joy, agony, and suffering" will begin then.

Again, thank you all for your responses.

~Keith

:welcome: For me it was love at first sight !! and then I got my wife on board to buy a :spyder::shemademe_smilie: and that my new excuse for buying a :spyder:RT-S instead of a :spyder:RS. Once you go to :spyder2:fest you will leave wanting one :ohyea:
