• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all

New member
Sorry for posting a hello in here but I couldn't see a newbies area. The name's Russ. I'm based in the UK and have been a Spyder owner for a month or two now, although I've been racing ATV's for a few years. Oh, and my member name comes from a few years further back when I used to ride freestyle jetskis. Hope I'm not the only Brit member at spyderlovers.com but it doesn't really matter I guess.

I hope you like the site. We have a great bunch of folks here but it's always nice to add some more.:doorag:

Let us know what it's like riding the Spyder on the other side of the road.

Do you mean the correct side of the road? ;)

Actually because I drive both in the UK and in continental Europe I drive on both sides, but not at the same time of course! The German Autobahns are most interesting!

welcome
Welcome..
The folks here make this site what it is , and above all our collective thanks to Lamonster who provides the venue for this magic to happen ...

OH MAN I now can only dream of Driving the Spyder on "Autobahns" I have been in Germany a few years back and the Autobahns "NO SPEED LIMIT" of course safe as conidition allows it. I bet it'll be excellarating to top out the speed without worries of police to give out tickets. I speeded once in the States and the thought of almost getting caught was not my cup of tea I must say. WELCOME TO SPYDERLOVERS.COM I do hope you enjoy this site as much as I have. I will be looking forward to hear about your experiences with your new Spyder! I have met a couple of people on this site. As you will too!

welcome :spyder: LARRY Orange Park, Florida

welcome How does the Spyder hold up on the Autobahn? Also, there are a few brits on this site. I'm sure at least one of them will chime in shortly. :2thumbs:

Thanks all for the kind words.

The autobahns are great for sure. Had the Spyder up to around 100mph and she was very stable. There were strong winds though so it was a little disconcerting at that speed with some strong side winds pushing me around, otherwise I'd have pushed on a little further.

The only problem with driving on the autobahns at speed is that there is always someone else going faster and you are constantly moving over for an M3, M5, M6, 911, Merc AMG, Jags, Jap bikes etc etc! Not all of the autobahn is unrestricted now though so you get large sections where there is a 120kmh or 80 kmh limit. The cops aren't that fussed though but if you speed in an urban area they will literally come down on you like ton of bricks! You can have your ride taken off you!
