• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help with burning legs idea ...

Here's the deal. The wife is riding a Spyder RS SE5 and because of physical reasons her legs hug Spidey pretty tight. As a result her legs become very red and sometimes almost burn. Not to the point of blistering, but it is definitely uncomfortable for her. I suggested to her to wear high-top boots, chaps, or even wrap her legs with bandages when she rides. Although all of those suggestion work I am thinking there might be a better way.

What do you think of lining the inside of the panels which come in contact with her legs with some sort of insulating material? I am thinking this might work but I really don't have a clue as to what material to use. This might be something that has been done before, but I haven't heard of it. Any suggestions, opinions or advice on the idea? Especially ideas on what to use.

Wrap the exhaust pipes, take the panels that close the bottom of the engine bay off, first one keeps heat from building up, second gets rid of what heat does build up.

There's a 1/2 inch thick foam-type insulation already glued in place on the middle side panels.....perhaps more of a similar material to fill it in completely? :

I had issues with left side heat. A lot - enough to make my leg feel like it was burned. It wasn't - but, it was painful.

I had the dealer wrap the exhaust on the left side. It didn't really help.
So, my husband added some heat shield tape to the inside of the panel where my leg was resting.

It actually did seem to help - based on the last few rides. Though, the real test is on a hot day in stop & go traffic.

My panels (at least the ones where my legs rest) had no insulation.

Perfect!! Thank you so much. This is exactly what I was looking for and you experienced exactly the same issue as my wife. I will do this.

Another thing to check, if you haven't already, is the exhaust Y gaskets. The stock ones tend to deteriorate very quickly, and many of us have replaced them with ones from Honda that are much higher quality and last a whole lot longer. I have the Honda Y gaskets and my exhaust headers are wrapped and the leg heat is minimal and doesn't cause me any discomfort.
