HELP... Two Bros Vale Installation.

EDIT: I think I have it worked out... took some bending... but I'm still going to add a spacer and some washers for insurance. Will post update tomorrow night.

So... I bought the Two Bros Vale slip on for the Spyder.... Comes with all the parts, and directions for mounting, etc.

Go to put it on tonight... I find that it is entirely too close to the bike. There is no way that it is not going to vibrate and hit against the rear fender supports.

What the heck Two Bros? The slip on 90 has two spring welds, so it looks like they re-purposed that from another setup... another inch on that slip joint and another inch on the spacer for the strap would be perfect.

So... What to do?

Anyone else install this POS? What were your results?

Here is the vid of it... As of 1:46am EST it still needs another hour to upload and probably another bit after that to process...

Only other reasonable explanation is that they sent the wrong 90 with it. Yeah, I know that have the 90 bent out will not solve the spacer issue, but right now it seems to be bent in...

Rubber mallet tomorrow?

I had to put washers in or a spacer on the bolt, tb sucks.

No amount of washers are going to help... plus i'd need another inch on that bolt... That pipe is literally resting up against the fender support.

The problem is the 90 more than anything else. Will shoot a vid.

Take some pics of how you tried to install the muffler/hanger area to the foot peg bracket.

Video uploading now. Probably won't be up much longer to post tonight and the video will have to process... but I may have time to post it.

Wish I can help but I installed the TB dual can on mine and yesterday a dual can on a friends spyder with no problems. :dontknow:

My duals went on perfect too. Do you have the spacer in place on the foot peg bracket? You WILL need that. It should have come with a longer bolt too.Did they send you the wrong pipe?:dontknow:

Ok.. Crisis over... I made a steel spacer to make the pipe hang lower, and I found I could force the pipe out more and I think it will stay that way... I hope. I may have to remake the spacer out of a stiffer or thicker piece of steel, but I think it will probably be ok.

I got the 90 seated about as good as I could get it. Feels pretty solid.

Pipe is pretty loud.... Still have to check for leaks... That will have to wait until Monday. I have the power tip for it... Just in case I want to tone it down. My Sena blue tooth set arrived today too, and I'll be using ear buds from now on versus the Scala speakers, so I should get the performance, and be able to have my tunes and phone still.... If it interferes with the tunes I may have to go back to the stock pipe.

Thanks for the suggestions... They helped. I just needed the time to think about it more and try one more time.

Bottom line... I still don't like it. I think just a couple slight changes to that 90 and spacer would make for a perfect install every time, for anyone.

the GS I just bought had the two brothers exhaust installed, and i have wear marks on my rear fender brackets from where it was rubbing.....so I'm going to guess its standard fare for TBR's products. the clamp on mine is also too big to fit on the pipe....

i hope it works out, here is a example of how much you had to space it out on mine..

again, 6 times I rebuild this pile but did run my best 1/4 mile time with it.

Dan, if the can was carbonfiber(especially TB carbon) I would be a little worried about the stress the spacers exert. You can still add some high-temp rubber washers or there are rubber/steel cushion bushings that may fit to alleviate and dampen vibes. Just letting it run idle before use will also help to anneal and self adjust. Just like R/C planes or other hobbies, I have never seen an ARF or that's really Almost Ready to Fly, it needs some modelling attention.

Thanks Jim.. This is just the polished can. I'm trying to close out work and then I have to fly home to Utica this weekend for a wedding, so I won't be able to tinker until Monday....

So far so good.
