There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. HELP. Changed my rear tire

Ted in ncal

I changed my rear tire and now the screen shows a VSS and ABS warning along with the Limp Home warning. I removed the ABS sensor, checked the number of shims cleaned the face and reinstalled. Still shows the same warnings. Where do I go from here?

There should be 2 sensors on the rear wheel. Did you run the Spyder in gear with the rear wheel lifted? It may take nothing more than riding the Spyder to clear the issue.

Depends..!

you should not have removed or messed with the brake system simply remove the wheel and disk. You need to check that the wires to both are not unpluged or damaged. Sensors are aligned and test ryde or run the rear wheel off the ground in gear. :dontknow:

It's happened to me too!! Fixed now tho!!

Yep, I had exactly the same problem just recently - I was extremely careful with the removal/refit, & was positive that no sensors had been touched/damaged or anything else untoward occurring, but once the new rear went on & I started up the motor, the ABS, EBD, & VSS warnings/error codes showed & it dropped into limp home mode. Mild panic until it dawned on me that the codes were for the FRONT wheels, not the Rear wheel, which was the one I'd replaced!! A bit of asking around on OzSpyderRyders forum here in Aust revealed a few over here who've had the same problem, & it basically came back to letting the rear wheel turn/engine run while the front wheels sat on the ground not spinning - the Nanny thinks the front sensors are stuffed so the ABS, EBD, VSS wouldn't work properly as a result, & it gives you the warnings as well as drops it into limp home mode. :yikes:

Solution, not too hard at all, just like BajaRon & others here in Aus suggested, take it for a short & gentle ride - up the road & back again & the errors are gone & all is well once more! :D

Then the park brake warning light came on, & I had to strip the tupperware on my 2013 RT to find that (the grandkids helpful little fingers) activating the park brake while the caliper was off the disc had let the cam over-rotate & bend the little spring loaded arm that activates the park brake warning light switch into a 'U' shape so it no longer contacted the cam & left the light on all the time - straightened that, & the park brake warning light is now functioning properly again too!! All is well!

Note to self for future wheel/tyre work, it might pay to leave the park brake off & disconnect the battery before removing the rear wheels, or any wheel for that matter, & only connect it back up once all the wheels are back on the ground & you are ready to ride it once more! ;)

Good Luck with yours Ted, hope that helps you some!

Hey Peter, sounds good to me. Will try it tomorrow.

i forgot to add to my post about adding another schrader valve to the right hand side of the rim. No more fighting with lack of space at the pulley side.

For those who want to know if I used a OEM tire the answer is no. I purchased a stock size tire from V Rubber. The only one I could find that makes that size and it is a lot cheaper than BRP.

I don't think that is the Kurvygirl site he spoke of...and that might get you banned. :roflblack:

There are only 2 sensors on the rear wheel of older models. Since the OP did not share the year of his Spyder it would only be a guess if he has 1 or 2 sensors.

True, I should have mentioned that possibility as well. Thanks for keeping me straight!

VALVE

after going to www.curvygirl.com.. which valve fits the Cam Am ?
