• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet Sunblocker

I have been painting the top of my visors with Black Krylon Fusion.
Works great for me. Before Krylon, I used black Gaffers tape.(Like duct tape but less sticky)
I like the top totally blocked out, not just darker.
That way when traveling west in the afternoon you can just tip your chin down a bit to block the sun.

I'd just get a helmet with a build-in shade...if the sun is lower in the sky, this won't do much...

I have the HJC IS-16 Scratch...nice helmet for a good price...the sunshade is awesome!

That's a great and inexpensive way to go if you already have a helmet.
But if your looking to get a new one, You might try one with a built in retractable sun screen. Like the HJC SY MAX 2.

I love a full face helmet but can't stand the shield closed so for years we have put a strip of black electrical tape on the bottom edge of the shield. As the sun changes direction I can adjust my shield up or down and always have a sun block.

:agree: Looks like HJC has a few with sun screens...

I have this helmet and while helmets are very personal things and not every one works for everyone this helmet works for me and the built in visor and flip up chin guard are great!

I have the IMax HJC with retractable sun shield too but it's a modular helmet and I bought a CSR1 HJC that didn't have a retractable shield. The retractable shield works okay but I think the sunblocker works a little better IMO. :doorag::ani29:

Thanks for the info. At less than $20 it may just be worth giving it a try. I have a photochromatic face shield on my helmet, but their are still times it is not nearly dark enough to help.
