• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Recently I was at my local Can Am
Dealer and was already to buy
The low end Can Am Helmet
With the insignia/ logo on it.....
$79 .... the parts rep. Did a good
Job selling me on another brand
For 10 bucks more it had ... drop down
Visor to help with sun glare
Attachment for full face will
Snap on.... and a $25 "back of helmet light kit"
You could purchase
Any of you have something like that?
I live in SC so no helmet law...
But only 25 miles from NC line.
I also went with white instead
Of black for less heat retention...
For ability to be spotted by other
Drivers so less likely to be hit
Does anyone have
clothing color recommendations
Any of you would make?
Thank you.
David

Visibility

In the summer I wear a hi-viz textile yellow jacket. In the winter I wear a hi-viz yellow vest over my heavy grey jacket. I always want to be seen by cagers.

While :agree: that doing everything that you can to make yourself more visible is a GREAT idea...

I'm currently stuck in a Black Helmet, and a Gray mesh jacket... :opps:
(The Missus wouldn't be caught DEAD, in Hi-Vis Yellow... :banghead:)

comfort...

I have not noticed any difference in dark to light colored helmets. Still your right in that light and bright are more visable. If not the bright or reflective clothing then light colors help. Many ryding jackets come with reflective band on them. I do have a helmet light connected to my brake and turn signals with a nightime flasher all wireless. If not try the "Volvo Lifepaint" which sprays on invisible but glows when light hits it at night. Goes on all materials...

Day glow and hi viz for me. But I'd question the protection of a helmet that sells for less than a hundred bucks.

wife and I wear mesh jackets mine white and black trim hers white and pink. both have reflector threading and stripe but try not to ride at night.
I think the Spyder is big enough to be seen. plus I try to watch out for all cars never trusting any of them.
I do not want to look like a deer hunter heading to the woods so do not ware any of the bright dago colors.

My recommendation would be to spend more than $89 on a helmet. The comfort and noise reduction alone are worth a higher price.

There is a lot of high viz stuff on the market these days.

I am not seeing what version of :spyder2: you ride.

If you have an RT, any clothing is not going to stand out much (except for side views), so high viz is not an issue there.

Helmets yes. I have three Yellow helmets--and one yellow bike. The other bike is magnesium and akspyderlady wears a black helmet that suits her claustrophobic issues.

It is pretty much up to you.

Visibility is good, but driving defensively is better. IMO

I very much agree! A helmet is not the piece of equipment to cheap out on...buy the best helmet (that includes fit) that you can afford.
