• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet Laws

Hi Mark,

Re: Please show me again where the Constitution grants the Federal Government the authority to mandate the use of helmets.

I am no constitutional expert but I believe that they get the authority under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.

It covers anything that moves between any two states.

Jerry Baumchen

PS) Open question for those who do not like helmet laws: When is the last time you wrote either of your two US senators or your Representative in Congress? :sour:

Seriously? SEAT BELTS on MOTORCYCLES???? (You can't legislate common sense when the legislators don't have any!)

and second question: How would back wheel steering help any thing, except create business for tow trucks, ambulances, and the like?

I seen those used for small kids before. Keeps them seated...

Help your hair grow!

It's only fertilizer for the male pattern baldness...

Oh Lucky me, I don't need any. ;-)

Yes I was serious. AMA went to DC and asked to see somebody that backwheel. They admitted nobody could. I forget why they finnally let on the seat belt thing. People are forgetting battles of the past. Insurence companys had a black list they would not insure. All kinds of "sport bikes" including 500 cc Honda Silver wing, google that one.
While I am ranting, At one time, the Navy would not allow any motorcycle on Station. USAF would allow a Officer to register a motorcycle on base. NCO use was discourged, but not banned. It did effect some Performance reports however. Both cases, citied Conduct unbecoming (used to be UCMJ art 133 for officer and 134 for enlisted. Many Housing associations ban motorcyle today. AMA and winds, sometimes wins, other time losess
Off my soapbos for now.
