Heat shield for my 2013 RTS SE5

I have a 2013 RTS SE5 and quickly learned what it means to be "hot footin it" down the road. As I see it, the shield at the right foot is designed to direct hot air onto the right foot, which is located very close to the opening. So, I decided to perform surgery. This fix works great for me and did not cost anything. Of course if I want it back to the original, I'll have to purchase a new panel... The picture below shows what I did.

That fin IS the reason why we BBQ. I posted that up with my fix last week. Maybe you read my note on how the air bounces off the fin and....well, you're definitely far more courageous than I am.

Actually, I missed your note. I guess great minds just think alike.

I fully agree that the fin directs the air to the foot and is the source of the problem. As for courage....It was really desperation.
