• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Headlights

:2excited:I rode my new Spyder to work for the first time yesterday and on the way home this morning,( it was still dark - my first night and interstate experience) and I couldn't help but notice how bright the stock headlights seemed, so my question is how much brighter do they need to be? The HID upgrade from BRP is over $1200.00 . The upgrade from NMN is way more reasonably priced. What is the difference? What is HID anyway? More dumb questions from noob - sorryif these have been addressed previously.

I agree with your findings. I have driven at night and the headlights are as bright as I need them. The bulbs are H7 high beams. The "low beam" is just a shutter shutting out some of the high beam, thereby causing it to be less bright. In the end, it's probably left to each ryder's preference. I don't think any brighter light is worth the money. If someone else does, then by all means they should get them. I ride with the brights on in the daytime and they are very easy to be seen.

I find around town the headlights are fine but on back roads at night they can be a bit iffy. I'm looking at getting the NMN HID's in the near future for this reason alone. The are much brighter there is a video of a night shot with normal headlights and HID's somewhere on here but i couldn't find them that show the difference.

I will say i can't justify the 1200 for the BRP ones but the 275 for the NMN is a justified expense once i get the funds.

Taking my spyder in wednesday and a local shop will be installing the NMN HIDs. He said they can get the same brand and they are very good. I went with th 8000k which should be pretty blue and BRIGHT!!

I agree that HIDs are better...will likely get soon as well...however, if you don't have the fog lights, get them...they help out a lot!!

You are right, the spyder Stock headlights are very good. I would have never even considered brighter lights until my husband got the NMN HID's, WOW is all I can say. We live out of town and it gets pretty dark and a lot of wildlife in our area. These HID's are a must, after having them, can't imagine my spyder without them.
