• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone used BRP Go on the Canyon?

Has anyone used the Canyon's factory installed navigation? I know you need to download it first, but I would like to download the map for the country I live in and use it when I don't have cell service.

According to the Can-Am website, the Canyon comes with the 10.25" screen which uses Apple CarPlay:

Edit: And while I am an Apple iPhone user, and use Apple CarPlay in my Honda Ridgeline, I have not been able to get CarPlay to work consistently on my 2024 Spyder RT. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

When I bought my Spyder, Can-Am still hadn't delivered CarPlay, so I bought a Garmin Zumo XT motorcycle GPS and mounted it on the handlebars.
Since CarPlay is not reliable, I've switched back to using a Garmin Zumo XT GPS.

The Garmin has actually made a few things simpler. I'm attending a motorcycle event in October that has a number of planned rides. They have delivered the routes as printable maps, and GPX GPS Exchange files. The Garmin loves the GPX files, but Apple CarPlay does not support GPX.

Yes @racoon, but I have an android. From what I was reading that the New 10.25 also can have Navigation downloaded to it also. I don't get my Canyon until I come back from my work trip. So I can't bring it home yet to try it. I did try to search before I posted. The information is all over the place. And since the Canyon is so new I don't know if anyone has tried it yet.

I think that @racoon is suggesting that you don't waste your time with BRP's offering, cos it's meant to be Apple CarPlay (as BRP seemingly disdains and doesn't support anything android!) and besides, when it comes to BRP's version of whatever, it just doesn't work well, as described at some length in a few threads here & elsewhere!! 😖

@raccon has now gone back to using a Garmin Zumo XT GPS, which DOES work well and do all those android things you want it to. ;)

Just Sayin' :sneaky:

Yes, I understand. Maybe I will get one. Any other Suggested Navigation units? I will use the search function also.

The Garmin Zumo XT (5.5" screen) and the newer Zumo XT2 (6" screen) models are specifically designed for use on motorcycles.

And I understand about using an Android phone, which of course doesn't work with Apple CarPlay.
A Google search for Android phone navigation apps says that both Google Maps and Waze work on Android phones.
So maybe mount your phone on your handlebars, and use it directly for navigation? Not as nice as the larger screen on the Canyon, but cheaper than buying a Garmin.

You'd still need a mount. I would suggest looking at either Arkon or QuadLock to see if they have something that will work with the Canyon's handlebars.

Just a little background.
I don't Live in the USA anymore. Most of the normally available items in NA aren't always easy to get or certify in Germany, where I now live. Long story short, most anything you add, you need to go through TUV if it didn't come with a EC Code. The Mounts normally don't matter, just more cautious when adding things on.
I was hoping to avoiding any items on my handlebar to keep it a clean look for a while.

Just to be clear, even with Apple CarPlay, the iPhone has to be plugged into the USB port, not just Bluetooth paired to the bike.
If you get a long enough cable you could tuck the iPhone into a chest pocket on your jacket... or find a mount for the handlebars.

Garmin does have a German website which lists the Zumo XT2:

And you can download Europe map updates:
