So this just happened on Friday: I started up my 2018 Spyder F3 Limited, and it would not shift from N to 1st.
I pressed the paddle multiple times and no response, then the Transmission Fault warning with the ! showed up on the display.
I turned the trike off and on again, and it reset. Everything seemed fine, and I rode to work.
The transmission shifted normally and felt smooth.
I turned the trike on and off 6 times at work and shifted gears, and all seemed good.
Worked my shift, and when I went to leave, it shifted into 1st, but when I turned the throttle, there was no response. The engine didn't even rev; then the Transmission Fault lit up again.
I turned the trike on and off 3 times, and it finally reset.
Rode home, and all seemed smooth again.
I am loathe to ride it without knowing what caused this.
I have searched online and haven't found any answers.
My dealer isn't open until Tuesday.
Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas?
Also, I just had the Engine Output Shaft recall service performed. This seems too coincidental to not be related.
