• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hardley's Troubles Continue

Yah, their stocks dropped too. Just means the Exec's gotta buy smaller islands or yachts next yeaar.

Their market share has been shrinking for quite some time...

But they still sell some of the coolest Tee-Shirts! :D

Their problems are due to recalls and Indian Motorcycles, Tax change is nothing but a poor political statement. nojoke

:agree: The changes to the Tax Laws could do nothing but help the Company. :dontknow:

I'm sure you've read every page of the new tax reform act and are MUCH better versed in its details than the CEO of Harley and all his tax accountants. After all, the tax bill is only 429 pages long, single-spaced. For the rest of us who don't believe in oversimplifying complicated things, here is the actual tax bill: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/11/02/us/politics/document-Read-the-G-O-P-Tax-Bill.html

HD is like Budweiser - terrible product but great commercials. Here is one from Scottsdale, AZ dealer:

Great commercial.:bowdown: :firstplace::firstplace: In over 50 years, I have never been tempted by the brand. When they came out with Tri Glide (2010) I will admit to visiting the local dealer. Was really impressed with all the bikes, and gear up the gazoo. Sat on the TG, and I became hooked on the :spyder: RTS. When we started the engine--I was even more impressed with the RT.

Have had many assorted two wheelers and 5 assorted :spyder2::spyder2:'s. Every one was more advanced (IMO) than the HD's. All my $30K bikes were :ani29::ani29:'s.

Most have to admit, they build some of the best 1950's bikes that there are.

It helps the OWNERS of the company.

Greatly accelerated depreciation makes the balance sheet look TERRIBLE when it is first implemented.

But...it saves on taxes because of more expense to the bottom line. Depreciation is a companies friend. That is why the Feds have had a limit on how much could be taken yearly.

Sad....

But it has been coming for some time. They have had their ups and downs, sold, swaped, traded etc :roflblack: but have always been there in some form or another. Not a fan and never have been. Never worked on them in any of the shops other that change tires but they will still be around...
