• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Handlebar mount?

So I was wondering if Ram or anyone makes a Spyder handlebar mount for my new Apple iPad... :dontknow:

I know Lamont might bounce this to the Off-Topic folder, but you gotta admit: If the thing can withstand the vibrations, wouldn't driving while reading a detailed map on the iPad's 10 inch screen (instead of my piddly little Garmin Nuvi) be awesome?!

Sure don't come around for a couple of months then try to find something out :roflblack: next you will wan't a mount for your flat screen :joke:

Great, now there's something more deadly than texting while driving. Let's see, shall we surf the Net or play a video game? :joke:

Hey, Scotty, just picture it:

Since the iPad has an accelerometer in it which adjusts the orientation of the image depending on how you hold it, the map will tilt and turn with you as you drive!

I think I read somewhere that the 2011 Spyders will have a recessed panel where the iPad will snap in to the dash with a recharging 30-pin dock connector, then when you park, you can take it with you.

Plus, of course, you are correct, Scotty--we can play all our iPhone games on it, surf the web, prepare slide presentations, check email, download itunes AND iBooks (and read the iBooks) and, of course, watch feature length movies.

You know, while we drive...

(Man, I'm really getting in shape for my April 1st posts.)

Well, that's OK then. Just as long as it's nothing really distracting. :roflblack:

First of all, Mike, I'm still trying to decide whether that wrap I put on is carbon-fiber-green, carbon-fiber-grey, or carbon-fiber-something-else-entirely.

'Cause, you know, last time I saw you, you never told me whether you loved it or not.

Secondly, if you recall, in my 1,533 or so posts, I have always tried to find out something: where's the banner, where's the sharpie, where's the pie, where's Connecticut, where's downtown Canada, how many PE Spyders are there....

Thirdly...what's a flat screen??

...Says the man with the new electric windshield.

(Brother, I can picture you riding, playing with that thing: up, down, up a little, no, down was maybe better...):joke:

:2thumbs:

That works for me! I could turn the Spyder into my mobile office and handle all of my business functions at 80 mph! Sign me up please. :D

I actually have a RAM mount that would work. If I thought you were serious I'd spend time taking and posting a picture.

I'm thinking hard about getting the Ipad except right now it's not designed for streaming videos and those are the only kind I watch when riding (to take my mind off when/if the steering may fail).
