There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 'Guess I'll have to set up my own cones, now! The Spyder Demo...

... is coming to town this Saturday, and Sunday. And, what perfect timing! My Spyder is ordered. and all that....

However; now, I see on the site that a Motorcycle license is required to partake in the Demo (in our state). I guess, I thought since it was a 'Demo' (in a parking lot) that a TN driver's license would be enough. Oh well.. :dontknow:

I'll still go and have a good time. And, my Wife is really looking forward to seeing a Spyder up close. It will be fun. :)

If your state requires a MC liscense, then they require you to have the endorsement for the on road demos. If Im not mistaken, the "parking lot" part of the demo in these cases is just a SHORT turn around a few cones to make sure you dont knock all of them down by having no clue what your doing. At that point they ask you if your comfortable taking it on the street, and off you all go as a group. There are other Demo situations where it is ALL in the parking liot, and I dont belive they require the MC endorsement on those.

They may let you do a parking lot only ride. Others have reported that when they went for a demo ride and did not have the motorcycle endorsement. I think it depends on the dealer and their perception of you.

I did not get to do a demo ride until I had my endorsement but they were coming through town again in a month or so. That gave me time to get the endorsement and then go for the test ride when they came back. :2thumbs:

Good info, John! We will see. My dealer is open tomorrow. I'll give them a call. They are the dealer sponsoring it. I'd be just fine running around (not over ) some cones in the lot. An option would be sweet!

I'd second at least going and spending some time talking with the Can-Am guys who go around doing these demo days. When I met a few in Daytona they seemed like nice guys and probably would work with someone who doesn't have a license just yet. With the way some people handled the Spyder at the demo I did in Daytona I was surprised that they took everyone out on the road.:dontknow:

Out of curiosity what are your plans for getting your motorcycle endorsement? Florida just put into effect a law that says you have to take an MSF course before you get your license.

Oh yeah! We're going to the Demo! :2thumbs:

I'm studying for the written part right now. If I have to take a course, I will. But, I don't think in TN that is required. I'm certainly not opposed to taking one. But, it's highly unlikely I would be able to get into one before my Spyder arrives, anyway. I can address that later on. At the Harley dealer, their course is $250.

TN doesn't require you to take a MSF course however if you do it keeps you from having to take the writen/driving test. I'll definately be taking the class since I have never riden before and the Harley Dealer is even going to let me use the spyder to take the class since I can't shift the Buell's they use for the class.
