• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks to all of you who shared your thoughts, congrats and encouragement. We went to the dealership in Chandler yesterday. Except for the 1st quarter mile heading south on AZ Ave. the ride home was WOW!. I am so much more comfortable on 3 wheels. But let me share this 1st quarter mile experience with you. I make a left hand turn at a light leaving the dealership. AZ Ave is 2 lanes in each direction. As you approach the intersection there are 2 left turn lanes plus the 2 primary lanes in each direction. Just as I put my left turn signal on in preparation to move left into the immediate left turn lane some bozo in a Lincoln with his hat turned backwards and cocked to one side comes zooming past me the cuts back to his right into the turn lane that I was getting ready to enter. My wife was following me home and later I asked her where that car had come from and she said that it passed her too on her left speeding in the center turn lane then moving back to the right directly in front of me. Nothing like a little tail tightening to start the 1st ride home. But after that what a ride. AWESOME! I can't wait to head out towards Cave Creek this weekend with a couple of buddies who favor the 2 wheeled mode.

Conservatively, I already find myself thinking about a few mods to make this Spyder my own. I'm hoping for a few comments on my thoughts...

1. Either the Can Am upgrade grips or Kuryakin ISO grips.
2. Can Am Ultra Touring Windshield or other recommendations are welcome.
3. The Evoluzione Swaybar. Does anyone offer which setting for overall best set up.
4. Some accent lighting. My Spyder is Silver/Black. I don't know... Red, Purple, Blue or Green would all look good but I'm also thinking that down the road that I might want to customize the paint scheme with something arachnid related in red & black on the rear fender and possibly the front area so that would probably have me leaning towards red or purple.

Suggestions & comments are welcome.

Just refer to me as the BluesRocker. My other passion is music and my preferences are Classic Rock and Blues Rock. Anyone who knows Joe Bonamassa, fyi... I saw his show in Phoenix last Friday. It was AWESOME!!!!!

Before you go to the expense and trouble of a swaybar, make sure you get the most out of what you have. Kick up the front tire air pressure to 18-20. It really helps a lot. Get used to shifting your weight by leaning your body into the turns. Finally, try setting up the front shock preload for a stiffer shock. If you do this, be careful. Jack up the Spyder, lube the adjusters with WD-40 or a similar lubricant, the adjust. Some still break, but most are OK. If you still need a swaybar then...go for it!

welcome Glad you escaped the wicked idiot cager!!!

My only comment on your questions is in regard to windshields...I have the CHAD (from ESI...a GREAT site sponsor) and it really helps since you can adjust it to your liking.

:congrats:

Unfortunately there are idiots everywhere. If we are lucky, they miss us and we get to keep on ryding.

I have the BRP custom grips and like them. My wife has Kuryakyn and really likes those as well. Most of the mods you do are going to be based on what you like, that is one of the coolest things about it.

Have fun, make it your own, and ryde safe.
