• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Great weekend until......

I have a 2012 rats standard sm5 with 2000 miles on it. We went to Vermont for the weekend from Taxachusetts. On the way up there in the rain and mist ,when down shifting and coming to a stop the bike would die. It started back up but I had to keep the rpm up or it would surge and stall. The throttle was like the old carbs where you had a bad excellarater pump and had to keep pumping it until you got enough gas going. This kept up until I got back home. Would be fine cold and idle o.k. Until the temp went back up. When we got there I smelled whet seemed to be a burning smell from around the muffler pipe area.
I think I might be in for a canister remake at this point, I found a drop or to where I think the overflow might be. Any ideas? I would like to get it operational again and get rid of it.

More info..!!

Bob is right, you should see if there are any codes which could tell you whats going on or we could tell you. Could be the evap canister, purge valve, throttle body or idles sensor but hard to tell. Roger put up an app (free) for iphone and android which will show you how to find those codes what they mean and what can be done. Look for spyder codes and download it...let us know..

Sorry I forgot, I did check for codes and there were none.

Sounds like mine was doing last fall. It would start and if you didn't apply throttle it would stall. This happened 4 - 5 times. No codes. Then at the 6th time it thru the dreaded throttle body code. I do not remember the code. Had throttle body replaced and no more problem. Hope you find the problem. Bruce
