greasing the a arm bushings

after reading everything I could on spyder lovers about greasing the a arms bushing, I found the jerk fittings are rusted around the ball and the ball seat, and are going to rust again! solution, replace them period. some will be easy, Napa has a selection of 6mm fittings 45 and 90 your choice they are a son of a gun to get started in, and the 90 degree ones may not have clearance to spin around. use thread lock sealant so you can stop in a convenient place to grease, the right angle grease tip is not reliable and difficult to use. and you will not need it, as you now have the proper fittings, unless you have tiny fingers and are very flexible, taking the frunk off is a good option, Napa zerks use a 9mm wrench to tighten, 7mm for can am originals. happy trails

The thread lock idea won't work unless you can get all of the existing grease off of the threads on the "A" arms. Also, if there is good waterproof grease on the zerks, they should never rust.

when I removed the original zerks I placed them on my grease gun and no grease passed thru, I poked the ball with a punch then tried again and some brown crap came out in a little squiggle then some of my grease, then I tried it with a new zerk and large squiggle came out. I just assumed it was rust. you can buy caps for the zerks $1.75 each.

It isn't rust, it is dried up grease. Sounds like yours weren't regularly serviced or were stopped up from square one.
