• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gray vs. black

Saw another SpYderLover that actually did this to cover his chrome. Mine was gray and I wasn't wild about it so...why not. Did the side panels, shifter and brake pedals. Also did the muffler tip (after trimming the pipes), and the two heat shields with hi-temp paint.

That's a nice accent to the bike, looks good, but i like chrome. I like how it shines when it's cleaned up.

LOOKS GREAT

As a fellow DIY'er I went thesame route except I did mine mostly in " COGNAC ". I also did my Dash surround in Toyota Pearl White , which is a dead match right down to the metallic base in a one coat spray paint.........Mike

Doesn't black give you 10 MPH more automatically?

Yes, that's correct.
As we all know, black isn't really a color. Black is the absence of color.
This is achieved because something that is black absorbs all light.
The shape of the Spyder has a larger area in the front than the rear.
By absorbing the light, the black Spyder is actually pulled in the direction of the light.
The larger area in the front pulls more forward than the rear with a net force forward.
Since all other colors reflect light, they get a breaking affect, pushing against the light, instead of a pulling affect.
Thus black is the fastest color, with the speed decreasing as the colors get brighter, with white being the slowest.

Yes by all means do the handlebars you love the look !
Did mine like yours including the bars and added a tinted windshield. I also blacked out my muffler tip and the guard.
