• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gps sound in speakers

If you have BRP's setup: it should automatically send out instructions through the external speakers.
But the radio has be "turned-on", and already playing.
(The volume can't be left muted...)

On the GPS it self make sure in setting the volume is set up at least halfway. I found that mine after the install it was turned way down

Not necessarily.
You are correct for the earlier RTs.
For my 2014, I can mute the radio and still get the GPS sound. All I know is the change was made sometime between 2010 and 2014
I'm quite pleased with that, because sometimes the only sound I want to hear is the wind and the occasional GPS command.

That's interesting. On my 2013 ST Limited. When using the external speakers. I mute the radio the GPS is muted too. When using my Sena headset and BT dongle. I mute the radio the gps will override the mute.

Someone posted the other day that they had a F3. Not sure the year but it had to be 2015 or later of course. They wanted to know how to get GPS sound when the radio was muted. Wonder why if it had been changed.

:D I didn't know that they had made that change...Thanks!
I'll have to try it out tomorrow!

I have tried everything. I still not getting sound out of Spyders speakers. I think the dealer wired it wrong.

Lets try one more thing if you use the mode button go to the audio screen. Then use the set button and press till you see
Nav mode leave it in this position and then select a route with the gps and see if it talks through the speakers. The volume should show on this screen make sure it is up.

The output line from the GPS, might not be plugged into the system. Tell your dealer to check for this.

I think that might be it Bob. But isnt that connection under the left panel just back from about the gas fill?

Okay I talked to the dealer and he said to make sure to turn on external speakers I did that. The tech said when he installed the GPS that there was a hot wire and a neutral wire . No mention of other wire. How do I get to gas tank? Thanks for everybody's help. I am on vacation in Colorado.

The connector the tech described is for power, there is also a standard headset connector in there and if your GPS harness is not securely plugged in on that, you won't get sound.

Another thing, at least on the 2013, if everything is plugged in and you want to hear just the directions from the GPS without the radio, you can set the Mode to Aux and the GPS will come through the speakers.
