• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Good ride with wife today

The wife has not been on the Spyder for 6 months due to some pain and cold weather - I ride in cold weather with no problem. I will admit it was a learning curve again since she has not ridden with me for so long. Slower take offs from a stop (2013 RTL), more time needed to brake safely (quite a bit actually) as well as coming to a complete stop, and harder to control on the curves at speed with the extra weight. The extra weight and the center of gravity shifting was a reminder to be cautious. When I ride alone, I ride pretty aggressively...cannot do that with the wife. Be aware of that as spring means more riding time with your partner.

Oh, trust me if the back seat doesn't like what's going on I'll be the first to know it!!!!:shemademe_smilie:

Wife on Board???

:shemademe_smilie:...Be extra careful with your Wife on Board.
Or maybe it will be the Last Time.
A Heads Up for all who really care about the Wife. .... : )

Be Safe and Stay Safe.

LOL! How very true. My back saddle companion always keeps me advised about speed, curves, other vehicles, road bumps, etc., etc., etc.,

I find it hard to get my wife to ride, but whenever I do, I am very cautious. Last fall she got with 2 of my riding buddies wives and they decided to take the 3 wheeled course. Then in November we picked up her own spyder (2016 F3T, just like mine). She has driven it once, but refuses to ride in the winter. This weekend it will be 70 on Saturday and near 80 on Sunday. I am trying to get her to go and practice a little, but she says that it is still winter, and she will not be riding until mid April. I hope she comes around and learns to enjoy this riding thing, but I am not sure how it will turn out.

My wife enjoys riding as passenger. I always drive easy with her onboard and try not to scare her. If she knew how I drive when I'm alone she'd make me get rid of the Spyder!

My wife enjoy(ed) ryding too. In fact, it was HER idea for us to get a Spyder, back in 2013.

Sure wish she was still ryding with me... missourigirl R.I.P. 10/07/2018

so sorry to hear you lost your wife Missouriboy . i truly understand , I am 70 years old , and after 16 years married . lost my first wife when she was 42 and I was 39 ( Cancer ) prayers for you .

Used to ride my wife on a couple of my old motorcycles. In comparison, the Spyder requires no effort. Braking, cornering, acceleration and balance are all drastically improved.
Any ride with her is good (she always wants to be on the back). :)

Sorry to both of you for you loss.
