• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Good ride, finally.

Finally got a chance to ride yesterday. Been difficult with the rain and schedule. Wife and I rode to Fayetteville, NC to see the Airborne and Special Operations Museum. A must see museum if you're in Fayetteville, home of Fort Bragg, the 82nd Airborne, Army Special Operations Command and the John F. Kennedy Special Operations School. We chased the rain home and caught up with it 4 miles from the house. All told, only 130 miles round trip.

The museum just opened it's Mogadishu exhibit. There is one display that tears at the heart. It's the rotor and gear case from Super 61. AKA Black Hawk Down.

Numerous vehicles, weapons and personal items. While there yesterday they had temporary displays of current weapon systems, a parachute packing demonstration with the newer square canopy. A WW II reenactor who had his fathers M1 Garand. I tried to walk off with it but didn't make it two steps. :joke: This particular Garand was made by International Harvester. Iron Mike stands in front of the museum. Admission is free but donations are accepted.

One heads up, there are taped sounds of various gunfire and voices throughout the museum. Took me a minute to adjust.

My son got an outstanding Garand through the Civilian Marksmanship Program a few years ago . . . spectacular rifle!

Great..!!

if you finally got a break this was a great one. Love museums and history. Glad you were able to skirt the rain as much as you did. :coffee: here's looking to that next one...impressive photo...

A ride and a great museum stop make for a great combination.

Have not been to the one you were at, but used to visit Wright Patterson museum in Dayton OH at least once a season when we lived in Ft. Wayne, IN.
