Good deal?

New member here. I was initially looking at a new Ryker 900, but ran across an ad at a car dealership for a 2015 FE S, semi automatic. It has about 5,000 km, both Shad rear bags, backrest on driver’s seat, and a windshield. Lots in great condition, with no dings or scratches on a cursory view. The dealer wants $20,000 Canadian, taxes and fees included. Is this a good deal?

For comparison, the Ryker 600 with windshield, one Shad bag, and phone mount was a bit more than $16,000 Canadian, taxes and fees included.

That would be $15,000 US for the F3 S and that sounds like too much to me. Check prices all over and see how they compare. A new 18 F3 has a base price of US $18,000 and with rebates it would be close to $15,000. Keep looking!

I have purchased used bikes from car dealers and I find they have a lot of wiggle room. I'm usually riding away paying 1/3 less than the asking price. You are in a buyer's market with this one, so press hard. I'd start by offering a figure lower than you think it's worth to you - they will counter and eventually you will come to a compromise. Whatever you do, don't show enthusiasm, act neutral about the bike, like you can take it or leave it. I know that BC is tax hell, wouldn't you be ahead buying from a private party?

I have only seen one listing for a F3, but I think it was abused as lots of miles and a new wheel. Other listings are for the more expensive models, or old units with the smaller engine.
