There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. hats off to you both.:2thumbs: wish we were closer to help out! if you want to start a spyderlovers fund for victims of this disaster we will donate. keep us posted.

While your thoughts of helping them are great, every TV station I've listened to says DO NOT bring them goods. They don't want them, they only get in the way and end up being pitched. They don't have the time to sort through and match up donated items, etc. When they control the inventory of everything that comes in - because they buy what they need with the money you can donate - from sources they have set up well in advance, things just work better.

So what they need is MONEY. Red Cross and Salvation Army are two great ones with online ways to donate

Although Firefly makes a fair point, there is a little behind the camaras that reporters forget to mention and take the news out of context (as they always do). There are families outside the affected areas that can help because of many factors and reasons. Sure, the Red Cross and Salvation Army are the first ones to help, but they are only a handfull for what is needed out there, and this is where these families come in and get help from Churches, local charities and such. These families are the point of contact for many affected areas and they need guidance and support right now. Dan, I have been first hand in disaster areas and the last thing these volunteers and affected people do is turn away help and supplies. Eventually they are taken in, inventoried and used when needed. If they become a surplus and it is not perishable, it is stored for a future incident. Incident Command Centers are setup for these types of situations, and there is a logistics section that takes care of this types of outside donations/manpower, etc.

That being said, I am not saying to go out and help out of the blue. If you are a part of a charity committee or know of one, contact them since they have the points of contact and know what is needed and where to go. And to acknowledge Dan's statement, money is always needed by these helpful charities. Any bit helps!

I'm just telling you all what the news stations are saying... which makes sense. Heck, the closest you can get to Moore right now is about 3 miles and then you have to hike the rest of the way. In the coming weeks, sure they'll need different kinds of help with feet on the ground... but right now they're asking people to stay away and let the professionals do their work.

If you're going to help or donate, please do it in an organized manner... by teaming up with one of the many organized professional groups.. Red Cross, Salvation Army and many churches in these towns have systems set up. Works much better than individuals running willy-nilly into the fray of things. These groups will be bringing in needed goods by the semi-load full.

Everyone can help by donating now:

Don't mean to dissuade anyone from helping, and the thoughts of helping are great.. but money really is the best way to help.

Unfortunately this is just the beginning of our new weather patterns where tornado's will be much more common.. not to mention stronger. Increased high temps from global climate change are here to stay. :(.

Sorry for my harshness... I really do admire anyone willing to help. Lets all do what we can. If you can go and help like some here are doing-- great-- just make sure and team up with those in charge of it all.

The rest of us.... Pony up some $$$.
We all ride around on $25,000 toys. We can each afford to send a little.

Thank you i have been touched by this type of disaster by family and friends. An it hurts the soul to have to deal with this an hope nobody has to in there life but it happens an we help in any way we can. I was onsite within an hour of May 3rd 1999 tornado in Moore,OK as i pulled up to a fire station i looked across the street an see nuthing but gas an water shooting up from a concrete slabs knowing this was somebodys home. It was very humbling an tears ran down my face. I managed a portable toilit co an was droping them off every where i could get to. Its bad on TV much worse if you are involved in it. sorry it just really touches my heart. An we have contacted Fire departments an they are ready an happy to have anythang on site. As i said befor even a trash bag helps. The small towns and Shawnee,OK witch is just west of OKC where hite by tornados on the 19th an was told most of the workers are hedding out to help in Moore cause it is just a cleanup process in the out line areas an they need many thangs.

Thoughts and :pray: continue to go with those who were affected by the storms. Those of us who can will surely step up and remember those who are in need, either through cash donations to the organizations or help in other ways.
