• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Glove Box/Steering Problem

Yesterday me and my girlfriend were out doing some riding (RT-S). When we arived at our destination the glovebox would not open. The steering was not locked. With a little coaxing is opened up and we went on with our day. Upon ariving at home the box would not open again and this time it would not budge. I was starting to get a little nervous as my phone was in there. I cycled the steering left and right a couple of times and it opened. But now there is a clicking sound just under the console as the steering passes the twelve oclock position and the glove box continues to lock intermintantly. Do you guys think it's the locking mechanism or DPS issues as I have not done the recall yet.

Unlikely to have anything to do with the DPS. More likely the locking cable either came loose, and the sheath is moving with the steering, or it is out of adjustment, so locks too easily. Your dealer is better equipped to deal with it, but if you take off the left upper side panel, you can see the cable. It should be attached to the glove box with a couple of cable ties, and secured at the rear of the glove box, in the appropriate slots for both the sheath and the cable. Also make sure none of the plastic tabs where it attaches are broken. Beyond that, take the stuff out of the glovebox for now, and visit your dealer.

Mine would not open a couple of days ago, while on the road to SitS.
My fix was simple, after I finally did get it open. I had a can of Skoal on top of my pistol and there was not enough room left to press the lid to open it.
Put the Skoal in my pocket and all is good.
It would be great if your fix was that simple.

I know this is an old thread, but I've also had this. After tinkering, it appears that the cable is fine, but the 'keep it shut' mechanisim on the glovebox was difficult to move- sticky. I added some graphite and dripless oil. It APPEARS to be much better. Not really sure if it was ok to use lubricant like that, but I treated it like I would any other lock.
