• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GloRyders Won't Shut Off

Bozzzz

New member
I installed some Gloryders and they look great, however, they come on in bright sunshine and won't go off 'til after I stop.

Any suggestions?

first suggestion is make sure you have the switch set to GLO and not SHO. Batteries installed in correct pole position? Beyond that not fixing it--you may have a defective set. If defective, Im sure the company will fix. They took care of a problem for me on set #3.

:agree: The previous 2 post pretty much sum it up--I made both mistakes the first time I installed mine. Have since corrected and now they work great. :2thumbs:

GloRyder says that because of the spider design in the cap, not enough light enters to the sensor thus your GloRyders will stay on when you are in bright sunlight

"Warranty information
Disclaimer: Custom Cap Designs effect the light sensor and in some instances may cause the circuit board to come on in the daylight."

Mine come on in a darkened garage and stay on in daylight. Also, they will come on when driving through a shaded area.

As stated above. If you don't clock the circuit board correctly the light sensor will line up with a solid portion of the unit instead of a window panel. If you don't get the light sensor aligned with an opening (window) you'll have an 'on all the time' issue.

As far as lining up the opening for the sensor,
the set screw only allows the cap to be in only two positions, each 180 deg. from each other. Not much choice.

This is true but on mine one spot put the sensor directly behind a solid area and the 180 degree rotated spot put the sensor in an opening. Made the difference in them shutting off in daylight. Only takes a minute to verify they are in the right spot.

I see what you mean, now. I'll give it a go.

Thanks

Oh, I misread your post. Just to make sure, it is the circuit board inside that you want to rotate to get the sensor next to one of the openings, not the cap. Sorry for the confusion, but it should fix your problem. Mine will still come on in a dark garage but as soon as I get out in the sun they shut off.
