• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GIVI bags

This is Hess here on the Wife's account.

I wanted to give a shot out for GIVI.
As I had stated in the past I had a bag open going down the road looks like the opening problem was I had not had it completely down and locked?

But the bag opened far enough that it hit the payment while moving causing some major road rash.

I had emailed Carlo and called Cam Am on at least 3 occasions when I got No reply or call backs I emailed Paul at GIVI in CA.

Paul is great is just under 2 weeks he has worked it out that the replacement color panel that my dealer ordered for me will be paid for my GIVI. What can I say but thanks Paul and GIVI they stand behind there stuff

For anyone running the BRP hard bags made by GIVI you may wish to replace the plastic pens that hold the straps on with metal screws so they will not come lose when you open them. If you dont they will pop out and allow the bag to hit the ground with the outer cover

thanks for the heads up.... :2thumbs: I had that happen once......
can you show a pic of exactly what needs to be replaced???
maybe a parts number????

I would love to see what your talking about as well. I ordered mine when i got my bike over a month ago and they should be in either today or tomorrow for me to install.

ok 1st time I ever did pic.

one shows the bag open al the way when you are on the bike and compress the springs it will touch the ground

one shows where it will hit

the other show the plastic "cord/strap" that is to hold the bag from opening all the way.

What I will do is remove the black screw/pin that GIVI uses and replace it with a metal screw that will go in the same place . Just find a screw just a bit wider not so much longer and screw in place.
You can coat the screw with glue of you choice on the treads dont get it on the red spacer this way the cord will still rotate as the bag is opened
If you use super glue use med or thick

This is not a fit from Givi they did not have one

Like I say the lock was more than likely my fault so you should not have that issue but you will have the pin pull out very easy

I love these bags and the BRP mounting system works great and can be removed fast for when you dont want the bags on. FIY dont loos that tool they give you to remove the hardware

On the GIVI bags on our old 2008 SE5, I just replaced the screws with longer/wider ones, as you did. They never came loose again. And I agree, if you lock the top properly it is virtually impossible for the bag to open. Also, I ALWAYS keep my bags locked. Glad GIVI is fixing you up. Happy Trails.

The bags are great...no idea how they'd open as you have to close them and lock them before you can walk away...

:2thumbs: thanks for the idea of replacing the pins. I have one that has come out so it's off to the hardware store to find a screw to replace it.
Thanks again!
