• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting Ready for the Twisted Sisters . .

I'm sitting at Coyote Powersports, where my Spyder is being worked on.

1. I'd long been having trouble with my parking rake intermittently not working. Kept adjusting it. Here they found its the motorized pulley failing and it that I DO NOT need a new cable. It's a known problem and covered by the warranty.

2. My frunk latch frequently doesn't re-latch. I'd been told it was due to the weight of the IPS, so I got rid of that. Then I heard it was the leather key cover in the way, so it or rid of that. Turns out to be the ignition mechanism & it's being replaced under warranty.

3. A couple days at at Palo Duro Canyon, I heard a rattle near the left wheel when I rolled on. Turns out the Ron Bar link broke! They're replacing it w/ an OEM one, not under warranty :( but it will get me home.

My AirBnB hostess forgot I was coming and went into a panic. So I'm staying at a hotel yet to be named. The guys here are helping me find a room at a decent rate.

After I've checked in tonight I'll tell y'all more about my trip so far.

 This doesn't exactly sound like a great start to a trip...

...But that just means that it can only get better!!! :D
Waiting here on the pictures and descriptions... :bbq::bbq::bbq:

Update on the frunk-release/ignition module . . . There's a cable connected to the module that is usually not a problem when changing out the ignition, but occasionally breaks. Since I'm leaving Sunday, they are concerned about doing that work here. So they're opening a case so they can communicate the problem to a tech near my home and I'll get it worked on under warranty later.

But they got everything else taken care of and even washed my Spyder and de-bugged the KOTTS!!:clap::clap:The tech here is named Rocky, and I must say I am very impressed with him and this dealership! I highly recommend Coyote Power Sports in Boerne, Texas!!!

Patti,
Glad to hear that plans (and the bike!) are shaping up!
Question: Where are the Twisted Sisters? :dontknow: I've heard of them; but not yet found them on a map...:opps:

I had to ask yesterday, too! Apparently there are two twisty roads near here that are fun to ride. They said that in one curve there is even posted a sign indicating the number of deaths from taking the curve too fast.

The actual "twisted sisters" ride will be on Saturday. Today, we're ryding somewhere else. I'll let y'all know more tonight.

That's a bummer that your Spyder is in the shop but maybe you should have had it in before your trip. Good luck on the hotel room.

Make sure you get the "broken" link back, I've never heard of one of Ron's breaking and I'm sure he would want to see it.

Yes, I'm interested in that too. Never heard of that and surprised based on the good quality of Ron's links. Would love to see a picture of the broken link and Ron's reaction.

As to the Ron bar links: The dealership called Baja Ron about the link and he said there had been some problems on some earlier ones and authorized the dealer to break a kit they have in stock to get replacements, and that he'd send them new ones. So Baja Ron stood up for the part  and I just had to pay for the labor.

Update on the ignition and DESS module: They are going to go ahead and do the replacement here starting on Saturday after the Twisted Sisters ride. They have a plan for the off-chance that the cable breaks.

I say again, I really like this dealer!
