• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gerbing Heated Clothing

Saw the thread on heated clothing...getting long, but here's the "skinny" on Gerbing Heated Clothing.

Gordon Gerbing started the business. He warranteed his products.
He got terribly sick, and sold the business. The new owners moved manufacturing to China, and cheapened the product.
Gordon Gerbing recovered (nearly lost his life), and bought back the company, moved it's manufacturing back to the U.S.A. , but changed the name of the company to Gordon's Heated Clothing. He has a lifetime warranty on all the products that HE makes. He will not warrant any of the products made under the name of the old company.
So, he's still in business...
Making stuff in the U.S.
Warranty for lifetime.

Go check out his website.

Gordon also had a lot of his stuff made in China at one time and
most of it was fine. He did move much of it back and all his stuff was warranted for LIFE! But, as you report above, sold it and that was the end of endless warranties. I have had Gerbing products for some years now and the only failure was a pair of gloves which they promptly replaced.

Good to hear Gordon is back in business. First I've heard of it tho.

PS: http://gordonsheated.com/ And his warranty for life holds for these products.

Good to know.....

Did not know this bit of history of the Gerbing heated clothing...thanks for this will check it out...:2thumbs: I heard in some part of the southwest if the temperature gets into the triple digits Gerbing gives extra discounts...

Gordon and his son used to live about 30 miles from me when he was developing the heated gear. We went by his house several times while his product was under development. This was 20 years ago while living on Bainbridge Is. WA. Nice family. After he sold his business to Tom Nolan things went downhill. Tom Nolan owns the website BMW Sport Touring. I had two controllers and one jacket burn up while I was riding. I had many heated conversations with him over this. It was all replaced and am now satisfied. He moved the company from Washington to I believe North Carolina when I was having all my trouble.

Glad Gordon Gerbing is doing well and wish him luck. I believe he was the first to develop any heated clothing for motorcycle riding and the rest followed his lead.
