I think I told you all about breaking the shift module on the 2012 Spyder RT. Anyway MotoUnited in Draper,Ut was able to get it fixed for me the first time. I took Charlotte home and a couple of days later she quit shifting and I thought something had gone wrong with the new install. Not a happy camper,but MotoUnited agreed to look at it right away. They discovered that the linkage to the shift shaft had striped out. They got a new link in and repaired the problem with no labor charge.I was a little surprised at this as that area was NOT part of the original repair.Not knowing what the problem was I thought it might be, but they checked all that out and everything was fine. Then they found the real problem. Well kudos to MotoUnited for taking care of the problem and a customer. They are a new Dealer in the Salt Lake City Area and seem to be trying to do good by Spyder Riders. I will be using them as they as they are about an hour closer then High Adventure in SLC.They are also very good,now just too far away.

Put Seal floorboards on last night that I bought from another member here and so far they are working great. I got a note earlier in the week from Utah Pete that he and his wife were meeting Chaos and his wife for lunch in Manti Ut and he invited me to join them. Thank you Pete, that was very nice of you to include me. Lou and Nova were wonderful,we had a great lunch and visit. They are on a Friends and Family tour thru the Southwest and this was just a little off their track.

Pete had an interesting thing happen with h is wife's Spyder.When he turned his wife's Spyder off with the key,it wouldn't turn off. He could stop it with the kill switch.And it would start up when the ignition was pushed, but no amount of pushing and turning with the key would make the ignition switch work ,nor would it open the frunk. Any thoughts? 2014 RT L SE6.When they get home I'm sure Pete will post about it. Hope all went well with the ride home.

I hope to see them the 1st Saturday in June for the Rat Fink Reunion(Big Daddy Ed Roth) in Manti Utah (5/31-6/2). SRA Salt Lake is doing a ride on Saturday to this.Anybody close to the area is invited to join us. Check out http://www.ratfink.com/rat-fink-reunion.php

Have heard of one other where the tumbler broke and the pieces jammed up the switch. opcorn: to see what Pete finds when he looks into it....:thumbup: glad you all had a good time together....that's what it is all about...:yes:

Ignition failure

I had the same ignition problem last year. Would start even without key inserted into ignition. Key would not turn. Had to have a new ignition installed. Down for two weeks while waiting on parts and installation

Hi Paul. I did post the jammed ignition switch issue, so now just wait for the advice to come pouring in. ray: We had just barely enough gas to get home (couldn't open the seat to fill up with gas). I think there must be ignition switch gremlins in that restaurant's parking lot, because when Lew tried to start up he got the DESS error. That one cleared itself up fortunately by just cycling the key on and off a few times.

I'm glad that worked out for you to join us in Manti for lunch. We live about 125 miles apart, which isn't that far, but for some reason never got together before this. Lew and his wife Nova (he is Kaos on SL) suggested a few weeks ago we might want to meet up with them, not really knowing how that might work out logistically for us, and it turned out perfectly. Great weather, wonderful area to ride in and we were able to break free from chores long enough to do it (didn't take much arm twisting).

Your Seal floorboards look great and best part is the price was right for them.

Taking it a day at a time, so not sure about the Rat Fink Festival at this point. Sure sounds like fun!
