• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gas Mileage & Computers

Hello fellow Spydies: I am new to the group and have a few questions.

Can anyone tell me what kind of gas mileage the Spyder gets both City driving and Freeway?

Also, I understand that the Spyder has a few computers for Traction Control and Antiskid Braking? Are these Computers Aftermarket items readily available, or are they specific only to the Spyder? I'm just curious about expensive replacement cost down the road several years.:banghead:

Thanks,

Michael:chat:

welcome

There are reports of Spyder mileage from 27 mpg to 38 mpg, plus or minus. Not sure what those ride conditions are.

I personally get 29 - 32 mpg with 100% city riding. On the highway, I get better mileage but at 80+ mph, the mileage tends to decrease back towards the 30 mpg mark. :D Anyways, I just figure on 30 mpg for my Spyder in all riding conditions.

The computers are part of the control system for the Spyder and are part of the vehicle. They are covered under warranty.

24 month warranty will give you protection for expensive replacement parts, but if you plan to keep it longer, the BEST extended protection is a good idea.
