• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Garmin zumo XT cutting out

MONK

Installed my new zumo XT on my 2021 RT today. Paired it with both my phone and helmet. I can hear the tunes from my phone and can control those (next/previous tracks, etc) via voice commands from the helmet. The problem is that the sound keeps cutting out. Sometimes this will be accompanied by some static, sometimes not. Not sure if there's a problem with the zumo XT or I have a setting wrong. I'd really hate to have to go through the warranty process and I really don't want to rip out all the wiring.

Suggestions?

Do you have it set to announce speed zones, curves, RR tracks, school zones, etc. If so the volume level may be set very low for that function and you are getting silence/static while it is going on.

That's an interesting question. Would that be Proximity Alerts? That volume level is set @ about 25%. I'll see if I can figure out how to turn off the other stuff although this seemed to happen more often then when I was going into/out of any of those.

How would that change me being able to listen to music off the phone? I know that's one of the features of the zumo.

Since the headset is paired to the phone you will get music directly from it just the same. You don't have to have the GPS on either. I use a special finger tip cover on my glove to work the touch sensitive screen. Some headsets have voice control too.
